Editor finds himself mistakenly ticketed

Silicon Valley Outsider Editor done "A terrible injustice."

David Orth, editor of The Silicon Valley Outsider and recently moved-in resident of Sunnyvale, CA, found himself at a loss for words after receiving a "San Fransisco Treat" on his car's windshield: A $23 parking ticket.

"Clearly, this is some kind of mistake!" cried a flabbergasted Orth. "My car still has Ohio plates on it. Obviously, I'm an out-of-towner. How could I of known that parking in the white zone was prohibited, and that the white zone was for the loading and unloading of passengers only? This is an outrage. I don't even have my California Driver's license yet!"

Mr. Orth, who parked his 1993 green Subaru Legacy in the white zone for "only like 2 hours, sheesh" was stunned to find the ticket, but not too surprised, given the amount of greed in this town. "I wouldn't be surprised at all if California doesn't have some 'You have to have a California registered vehicle law.' or a 'You can't park in front of fire hydrants' law. All of these Mickey Mouse laws! How am I supposed to come up with $23!?"

David currently plans to keep parking in the Office Max parking garage on Arguello and Geary "Until they catch on, or something."

"Technically, I'm a customer.. I bought a squishy mousepad and a folder there. Besides, how are they going to find out I'm parking in there?"

When asked if he were going to pay the $23 owed, he pointed out that $23 was a lot of money, and that the city, not him, was in error.

"What can they do? I don't think they have my car's plates on file or anything."
